About

Dr. Philip Rowburrey trained at St Bartholomew’s Hospital (also known as Barts) and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry (2006–2012), graduating with an MBBS and an intercalated degree in Experimental Pathology. He completed Foundation training in the South of England before entering Emergency Medicine training in the Severn Deanery. He sub-specialised in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, including training at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children which he completed in 2022. He subsequently worked as a locum Consultant at Musgrove Park Hospital before taking up a consultant post at Cork University Hospital in 2023. He joined Mater Private Network as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine in April 2026.

Dr. Rowburrey has a strong interest in paediatric emergency medicine, with a particular focus on patient safety and the delivery of high-quality care through quality improvement projects and clinical audit.

Dr. Rowburrey is a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) and a member of the Irish Association of Emergency Medicine. He has presented audit work at international and RCEM conferences and serves as a Senior Lecturer at University College Cork, contributing to teaching, research, and the advancement of best practice in emergency medicine.
