Dr. Seán Underwood, SpR in Emergency Medicine, was recognized for his Platform Presentation on “EmeraldDOC”, a groundbreaking project developed by a team of CUH ED NCHDs to support International Medical Graduates (IMGs) as they adapt to medical practice in Ireland. Each year, 500 IMGs face the dual challenges of integrating into a new healthcare system and adapting to Irish culture. EmeraldDOC bridges this gap as induction program tailored to the non-technical skills IMGs need for successful integration. After a highly successful pilot in July 2024, where 95% of participants reported a positive impact, EmeraldDOC is now set for national expansion.
