CUH Emergency Medicine is delighted to announce that the European Trauma Course (ETC) will be returning to Cork from June 3rd to 5th, 2026, following the success of its inaugural hosting in 2025. The course will take place at UCC School of Medicine, a state-of-the-art facility renowned for its world-class simulation resources, providing an unparalleled learning environment. This 2.5-day course is renowned for its immersive, scenario-based learning approach, designed to place candidates in realistic trauma situations.
Course fee of €1200 (deposit of €200 required at time of course offer to secure place on course) – ETC course fee is amenable to TSS application.

Course Highlights
Scenario-Based Training:
Approximately 85% of the course is dedicated to sim/scenario workshops, focusing on different aspects of trauma care. These scenarios increase in complexity to provide a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience. Over 2.5 days, candidates will engage in various trauma scenarios, including:
- Abdominal Trauma
- Airway Management
- Head Injury
- Paediatric Trauma
- Shock
- Spinal Injury
- Thoracic Trauma
Expert Faculty and Mentorship:
Our experienced instructors are senior clinical staff from diverse specialties. Each participant will have a personal mentor who meets with them daily to provide feedback and support, ensuring a meaningful and impactful learning experience.
Course Dinner and Networking:
Included in your course fee is a course dinner attended by all candidates and faculty. This event provides an excellent opportunity to network, relax, and bond as a team.
Continuous Assessment:
Participants are assessed continuously throughout the course and through a final summative assessment. The focus is on evaluating both technical skills and team leadership capabilities, with no written exams involved.
